Welcome
Molly! Born on Dec 12, 2009.
2010
A new year has arrived and I have been to my first International
Dogshow.
It was called MY DOG and took place in Gothenburg on Jan
8.
I was judged by an Australian judge, named mr Seymor Steven.
He
said this about me:
"Overall type is very good. Pleasing head. Wellplaced
ears.Needs better neck and shoulder. Excellent skin.Movement
is weak and topline could be stronger."
This is what I have wone in 2009 - seven rosettes.
To-day
September 12 th I won again in exhibition competion. The
judge
was a lady from Slovenia and she gave Doug a paper that
says:
By signing this I do confirm that this dog is of champion
quality.
Signed Zeljka von Zidar. Doug looked very happy and pleased
with me.
He rewarded me by giving me my favourite meal: pure ox
meat.
He also said we would continue exhibition competition
next year.
Another prize. Won at Swedish National Basenji meet July
19,2009 at Sala.

Maya
- March 6, 2009:

I have now lived with Doug and his two cats Snobben and
Malte for one week. I liked Doug immediately –he
is gentle and treats me with plenty of food. He also walks
me in a lovely forest, where we only hear natural sounds
like birds singing or the wind whispering in the tree-tops.
Snobben and I are friends but Malte is reserved and once
clawed my nose, but that was the very first day here.
Maya
6 weeks.

My
name is MAYA. I was born Dec 9 2008. I am a Basenji bitch.
I am very proud of my ancestry. The Basenjis are believed
to be 10.000 years old as a race. We have a historical
connection with the pharaos. Our origin is in southern
Egypt and northern Sudan. You can find us depicted among
ancient Egyptian paintings. We have pointed, rather large
ears.
Basenjis appeared for the first time in Europe around
1930 and have been bred from about 30 original dogs.We
weigh about 10-11 kilos. We come in three different color
combinations red/white, black/white and red/black/white.What
makes us differ from all other dogs is that we can not
bark. (Nor can the wolfs, our close relatives.)
My father is Echo of Kenya and my mother is Kofi con Mocca
.
We are hunting dogs by nature and that must be taken into
account. If we get the chance we will go hunting even
among heavy traffic and sadly enough many of us die from
car accidents. I hope Doug is aware of this fact all the
time and protects me from this fate.
